What the flight box sends out before you reserve a week
No week in this catalog has ever had a flight inside its figure, and the box on the front page does not change that: it is a way of asking somebody else. What follows is the whole of what that asking involves.
Everything that crosses over, listed
Airport of departure. Airport of arrival. The outward day. The day back, when one is given. Cabin. Three numbers for how many travellers, split by age.
That is the entire consignment. Absent from it: your name, any means of writing back to you, any number to ring you on, and every character of the request form that sits lower down this site. The box was built without fields for those, and none appear later.
The far end, and what is true of it
A booking company receives them. Different firm, its own trade, met by way of a host to which this domain has lent a name. Whatever it answers with is a fact about its own systems at that instant and about nothing here; a held seat is held in its ledger, not ours.
Payment happens on its pages, never on these, for the plain reason that no input on this website accepts card digits. Its conditions govern the ticket. Should you buy, the arrangement between that firm and this desk predates your visit entirely, comes out of its margin, and leaves your total where it was.
None of which makes this office a carrier. It contracts with no airline, issues no ticket, and prices every week from arrival onward.
What is worked out here, and the two limits on it
Underneath the fields runs a small tally, done by your own browser and sent to nobody: how many nights lie between the dates, how many of the weeks would sit inside them, and how many of the eight shortlists those weeks come from. The numbers behind it are lifted from the catalog file that also draws the tiles on the front page, once, while the site is being built, which is why the two can never quote a week differently. It is arithmetic, not an offer.
Two dates get refused. One already gone, because nothing is looked up behind us. One about eleven months out, because that is where the schedules on the far end run dry; asking anyway returns an empty answer that reads as a broken page rather than an empty calendar.
Last thing worth knowing: the request form lower down travels the opposite way, to this desk alone, and the booking company is shown none of it. Neither can read the other.
